NHL buys carbon credits to offset emissions

To offset its carbon emissions with air travel, the National Hockey League (NHL) of the United States has announced the purchase of carbon credits to equalize 465 metric tons of pollution.

The NHL announced the purchase on Monday, April 22, which coincided with Earth Day.

Compensation is equivalent to taking 99 cars out of the streets for a year. In addition, the league aims to reduce water expenditure during the games of the season.
